Lane is best known for his roles as Albert in “The Birdcage”, Mendy in “The Lisbon Traviata”, Max Bialystock in “The Producers”, Ernie Smuntz in “MouseHunt”, Nathan Detroit in “Guys and Dollas”, Pseudolus in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”, and his voiceover work in “The Lion King” and “Stuart Little”. He won the1996 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” and the 2001 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for “The Producers”.
